Just returned from our 4th vacation at Greensprings in 4 years. I cannot say enough about this resort and it's location. The units are well kept and nicely decorated. Everything you need for cooking you will find in the kitchen - and restaurants aplenty if you don't. The master bed & bath is awesome with king size bed and corner jacuzzi tubs. We overlooked the 13 tee with a beautiful view of the greens.There are tennis courts, shuffle board, and mini golf on-site. The activities desk rents movies & games, sells discounted tickets to area attractions & golfing and the indoor and out door pools were great.

We took 3 generations with us and there was something for everyone - golf, of course, right outside your door, museums at the college, outlet shopping, history at colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown & Jamestown. The amusement and water parks for the kids and Virginia Beach is close by.

Editing this in 2006 - we now own at Greensprings and still love to travel here evey year!!! Editing again in 2011 - will be travelling there this year yet again, it's starting to feel like home!!!!

We were supposed to have two - 2 bedroom units which were on the same level. These were not available so we were given two - 2 bedroom units in a different building. Problem was that instead of one level, one unit was on second floor and the other was on third floor. Quite a bit of pain for all our older knees!

Be sure to find out what unit in which building and what kind of unit before you book or buy here.

Otherwise, the facilities were very good, the service was good and the location is fantastic.

We were very satisfied with our stay and will go back. It had everything we needed, as prior reviews have mentioned.

Only issue was, with the exception of the LR patio window, we had no draperies in our unit. Just a pretty valance and CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP blinds. They didn't close tight and were beginning to fall apart, as cheap blinds do. No one could tell us why our unit had no drapes. When walking around, most other units did have drapes.

The WiFi service (AT&T) worked reasonably well, but seemed a little slow at times. We don't mind paying ($29.95/wk), as nothing is free these days and a day without my computer is a day not worth living. Sad, isn't it.

Interesting tidbit...we toured the timeshares at the Marriott's Ford Manor while we were there. The floorplan at Greensprings was better...more elbow room.

Funny comment: our unit overlooked part of the golf course. Two different men walked within 10 feet of our patio and relieved themselves in the woods on the perimeter. I wonder how common this is?

Two great food options: Trader Joe's for a grocery store and the Old Chickahominy House for a restaurant. Both within 4 miles but in different directions.

Just returned from a week's stay during Christmas week, and was very pleased with both the accommodations and the service.

Traded for a 4-bedroom, and it was definitely worth the Redweek points! The two 2-bedroom adjacent units were located on the ground floor, and each had a 2-person jacuzzi. Even the two stand-up showers were actual steam rooms replete with a built-in seat. Very impressive!!!

Didn't get to use much of the ancillary amenities of the resort while we were there, but there seemed to be many on-site: Movies, Bingo, Gym, kid activities...

Only drawback was that it is approximately 15-minutes from Colonial Williamsburg, but by the end of our stay we were used to the travel time. About half way down Monticello Ave on the way to Colonial Williamsburg is a Trader Joes, which we could not pass without stopping in. Also there are a couple of good fundamental churches in the area within ~ a 30-minutes drive.

Would definitely stay again if in the area, and trade is available.

Arrived for 4 nights - August 5, 2008. Couldn't believe the caliber of the unit. Plenty of room, beautifully decorated, kitchen stocked - except for a frying pan which the front desk replaced in less than 20 minutes. Services were excellent. Highly recommend.

I would recommend it over a typical hotel but we found the internet connection there was little to none. They advertise "free internet" but they don't tell you that you have to sit in the lobby for it. Internet in your suite will cost you ( i think $8 a day).There were times that we could not connect at all or it was ssslow and frustrating. Go to Panera's for fast reliable internet service if you need it. Cell service (at&t) was also spotty there. The accomodations (especially enjoyed the bed & bedding) were great.

As a frequent traveller and as an owner of several fixed week and points-based timeshares, I have to say that Greensprings is at the top of the list for quality, customer service, and location.

We've coordinated several family get-togethers at Greensprings, and everyone staying has commented positively about the resort. With close proximity to numerous activities (favorites are Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and outlet shopping) and complete in-suite kitchen/dining amenities (we stock up on groceries at Ukrop's and frequently pick up pizza at James River pie company to eat for dinner!), we are able to strike a balance between relaxing on the resort and taking in the many outstanding sites of Williamsburg.

Kudos to Greensprings for consistently providing a great vacation. We look forward to our next visit over Columbus Day weekend!

I read two reviews where guest did not give Greensprings a very good rating. I own and visit there 2 times per year and have never found it to be like these two people described it. One complaint was regarding a problem that the staff would not correct. I have never had a problem that when I called them, they were not their almost immediately no matter what it was. I have stayed at several timeshares and it is the cleanest, well kept units that I have ever visited.

The only problem I have with Greensprings is their sales people. We have dealt with them for almost 20 years with no problem until the last 3 years. We have found 3 very untruthful sales people. Please let me warn you, that what they say to you verbally is not what they put on the paper for you to sign, so I would suggest that you be very careful when dealing with them. Their only interest is to sell no matter how. They appear to be very honest and helpful but when it comes down to the paper work, it's a different story

WE STAYED AT GREENSPRINGS IN JULY 07. VERY,VERY, NICE RESORT. I WOULD GO BACK THERE AGAIN. VERY WELL MAINTAINED WITH OUR UNIT ON THE GOLF COURSE. INDOOR POOL WAS CLOSED FOR REPAIRS BUT OTHER THAN THAT, GO THERE.

My family just returned from a week at Greensprings. The accomodations were extremely nice (and more than enough room for all of us), clean, well-kept grounds, and activity areas, and very pleasant and helpful staff. Thsi resort is close enough to everything worth doing, but far enough away for some privacy and quiet. Definitely worth visiting and you won't be disappointed.

I enjoyed my stay at Greenspring Plantaion. The accomodations were clean and the property was well managed.

We stayed at the resort in September of 2005. It was wonderful, close to many historical sites, Jamestown, Yorktown and downtown Williamsburg. It was far enough away from the tourest areas to be quiet, but close enough to get to everything in a short time (10 minutes) at most. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The room was spacious and clean. We were in one of the condos facing the woods and golfcourse. We highly recommend the resort and would go there again.

Just stayed the week of July 10, 2005. Very pleasant resort. Far superior to another Williamsburg resort that I stayed at about two years ago. I purchased this resort resale last year and was very happy that I did after just coming back. I would recommend a unit close to the rec center if you have kids and want to use the pools or do activities because the units are fairly spread out and you may need to drive depending on where your unit is located. Staff was incredibly friendly. Unit was very clean and the pools were great for the kids. Grounds were very well kept.

Williamsburg is a great place and we will be going back many times to try new things. Busch Gardens and Water Country is a must if you have kids. I would also recommend, as we did, to consider going early to a park and then coming back to the resort for a few hours, rest up (shower up) and head back out to the park (could switch off to the other park if you get the hopper pass) in the evening. This way you avoid the lines and the experience is much more pleasant. We got on every ride we wanted many times over and did not need to deal with long lines and felt well rested for the evening. I would also recommend Williamsburg National Golf Course. All of us really enjoyed the course.

We stayed at the Greensprings Plantation for the last week of June, and loved it so much we are going back for the last week in July. The resort was kept very nicely, and the indoor and outdoor pools were both large and clean. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit and it furnished very nicely. The resort also offered many activities and amenities including tennis, basketball courts, nearby golf, bike rentals, and much more. The only thing is, make sure you stay in a building close to the pool and recreation center, otherwise its a pretty long walk to get there and back. Overall, I would recommend GreenSprings Plantation to anyone who is visiting Williamsburg, and RedWeek.com is agreat way to book it without having to purchase a timeshare.

We just returned from a week long stay from Greensprings. We are a family of four and we enjoyed our time there very much. We were nice and close to a Target as well as a grocery store and a few fast food places. The area attractions were not that far away either. The resort itself was secure, clean and quite large. My kids loved the indoor pool as well as the huge jacuzzi tub in the master bath. The room was clean and well maintained. There are no elevators so we had requested a first floor unit and were quite pleased with not having to drag our things up one or two flights of stairs. We would definitely return.

We spent the last week in August in a 2 bdrm unit and while the general layout and potential is there, we were somewhat dissapointed. The part that bothered us most was the maintenance of our unit. We (A laid back couple in there 50's and 13 year old son from Connecticut that travel A LOT and have been to about 20-22 timeshares over the last 10 years) arrived to one grossly smelling unit whose aroma stemmed from the garbage disposal, and despite a few calls to the office this was never remedied, and the fact that this turned our stomachs seemed of little importance to the 3 staff members I talked to at Greensprings. There were MAJOR rug stains all over our unit, and as bad a housekeeper as I am, this was a real turn off also. Some stains looked as if a 12 ounce drink had spilled and it was left that way. I have a stain remover at home that would have cleaned away the 7 or so stains in about 10 minutes... not that involved a job or solution folks. So we all spent as little time in the unit as feasible! The indoor & Outdoor pools were very nice, despite it was only 4 feet deep (Insurance reasons I would guess). The Pool - Snack Bar - Entertainment - Shuffleboard - Pool table - Miniature golf - Office and Tennis courts were all in one area and set up really nicely. The one complaint of all that was the Snack Bar. They served 2 types of beer and I think 2 types of mixed drinks which was constantly a problem with guests, as I overheard at least 18-20 people ask why they did not have more of a selection. Perhaps they had either a red OR white wine available also?!?! Now I realize in late August the summer is winding down, but people ARE still on summer holidays and this was a real oversite on the resorts part!!! I pride myself in efficiency solving and there was none existing there. Apparently the snack bar's management had just fallen to someone new at the resort and everyone that staffed the Snack bar explained this over and over (Think I spent a bit of time over listening???) . Only once did I actually talk to the new overseer and she was more adept at excuses than solutions. It took me 4 days to get an ash tray out there so I could stop having to extinguish them in flower pots. One of the carpenters there who seconded as a snack bar attendent went out and purchased a few ash trays on his own, which was very sweet of him. Sorry to sound so negative, but this was the most poorly managed timeshare resort we have been to over the years. Not in all areas, just the areas I have rambled on about. Sorry I felt the 3 star rating was all it deserved, but these things affected my ability to relax.... All I wanted was a nice smelling somewhat less stained unit and nice drink and an ash tray! The setting and resort has such great potential I hope they resolve these areas that really do affect a vacationers ability to relax and enjoy... after all isn't that what it's really all about? I have stayed at the Powhattan before (8 or 9 years ago) and never had these problem even though they are both owned by the Sunterra. I would probably go back there next time and hope it has held on to the high standards that once existed

We just returned from a week stay and have to say it was lovely. The accomodations and facilities are first rate.

As owners, we have stayed here a few times. It is a very nice facility. For golfers, there is a course on site. Williamsburg itself has many wonderful things to see and do and yet you are within 3-4 hours of the Nation's Capital, and a short distance from Virginia Beach. Busch Gardens is nearby. For History buffs, a lot of our heritage is in this area.

Greensprings is not only a beautifully maintained resort but also is close in proximity to Busch Gardens, Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, Williamburg Pottery, championship golf.

Each condominium is spacious and has all of the comforts of home.

This resort has wonderful facilities and helpful staff. I am looking forward to my 3rd visit to Greensprings (so are my kids)!

The reviewer who spoke of a need for rehab must have stayed at Powhatan, which is Greensprings sister resort. Maybe, the front desk had to transfer him there because this place was booked solid. This is the top resort in Sunterra's system as far as I am concerned.

We live in Del Mar, CA but love the changes in seasons the East affords us. Virginia is a wonderful place, complete with two of the nation's best historical destinations and a top rated family amusement park.

Don't miss this place at least once. Explore new Wash D.C. then recall old power in Williamsburg. You could justify taking the kids out of school to learn at both, the static museums of the Smithsonian and the dynamic ones at Williamsburg and Jamestown.
